In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Peggy W. Johnsen is very proud of her dissertation, which dealt with organizational health in the nuclear industry.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Central Arkansas in 1957, Dr. Johnsen began her career as a teacher for various secondary schools in Bigelow, AK and Lake Village, AK between 1957 and 1964. Following these appointments, she accepted the role of an instructor of the Graduate School at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN between 1964 and 1966. Subsequently, she continued her studies the University of Tennessee, graduating with a Master of Science in 1966. She later found success as an educational coordinator with the Arkansas Department of Education in Little Rock, AK from 1966 to 1980. During this time, Dr. Johnsen concluded her studies at the University of Arkansas, earning an Educational Specialist degree in 1979 and later, a Doctor of Education in 1984.

In 1980, Dr. Johnsen worked with the Arkansas Power & Light Co., in Little Rock, as a coordinator of industry training until her departure in 1986. She further excelled as an operations and planning division employee for the Lockheed Missiles & Space Company at the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California from 1987, before serving as a director of technical preparation at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA from 1994 to 1998. Dr. Johnsen flourished as an associate faculty member with Allen Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA from 1999 until her retirement in 2013.

Beyond her primary responsibilities, Dr. Johnsen was active as the vice-chairman for the vocational advisory council of Pulaski County, the chairman for the vocational advisory council of the Little Rock School District and a teacher of bridge for Club 543 in Santa Maria, CA. A published author, her written works include "Performance Based Training," and "Basic Stained Glass: A Competency Based Instructor's Manual." Additionally, she has contributed as an editor for the publication, "Word Processing: A Competency Based Guide." A member of the Los Padres Artist Guild, Dr. Johnsen is also affiliated with the Association for Career and Technical Education, the Minerva Club, Delta Kappa Gama, and the Orcutt Mineral Society, Inc.

In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Johnsen is very proud of her dissertation, which dealt with organizational health in the nuclear industry. She also notably participated in the creation of a manual that was utilized at Cuesta College. Outside of her career, Dr. Johnsen enjoys teaching the art of stained glass in her spare time.
