An accomplished structural engineer and researcher whose career began in his home country of India, Mr. Mujumdar is now self-employed, working and residing in Vienna, Virginia. In business for himself since 2009, he is also affiliated with the World Federation of Engineering Organizations as the U.S. representative, a member of the executive council and the chair of the Governance committee. Mr. Mujumdar was with the National Science Foundation as a program director for seven years.

Throughout his 57 years in the profession, Mr. Mujumdar has held numerous upper level positions for several years with such organizations as the Division of the State Architect for the State of California, as the chief of operations, VSM Associates as the president, and led his own company, McNamara, Salvia, Mujumdar, Inc., as the president. Outside of his full-time commitments in the field, he taught various courses at institutions both nationally and internationally. Mr. Mujumdar also delivers routine seminars before professional engineering associations.

Extremely successful in his ventures, Mr. Mujumdar was most notably responsible for the invention of a precast concrete building system. He has been active as the chairman for several earthquake engineering and resilience related committees, has served on multiple national and international advisory boards, has participated at numerous professional conferences and was a keynote speaker on several occasions. Furthermore, Mr. Mujumdar has written extensively in his field of expertise, authoring several books, "Reinforced Concrete Masonry Design: An Application Guide" through ICC Publications and contributing more than 80 articles to scholarly journals.

Receiving a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering at Vikram University in India in 1961 and a Master of Science in civil engineering at the University Roorkee in 1962, Mr. Mujumdar made his way to the U.S. in 1968 after briefly working in his country as a design engineer and in Canada as an assistant chief engineer. Returning to college, he later received a Master of Business Administration at Santa Clara University in 1980 and a Doctor of Public Administration at the University of Southern California in 2000. Mr. Mujumdar is a registered structural engineer and civil engineer in the state of California and a registered professional engineer in England, Canada and the U.S.

Mr. Mujumdar is a fellow of several organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), Institution of Structural Engineers (UK) and the Society for Risk Analysis. He is also a member of several other industry-related organizations, including the Prestressed Concrete Institute, the American Concrete Institute, and the Masonry Society, as well as as well as a former board director of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Masonry Society. The recipient of numerous awards throughout his esteemed career, including a Director's Award from the National Science Foundation and Medal of Excellence in Engineering from the World Federation of Engineering Organizations, Mr. Mujumdar was also a merit scholar through the Government of India between 1957 and 1962. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been featured in approximately 25 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
