Rev. Dr. Clifford E. Jones has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Dr. Jones is a dedicated pastor and community leader



    AUBURN, AL, November 19, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Clifford E. Jones has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Growing up, Dr. Jones was raised in a large family and had always admired his parents' involvement in the church and community activities. Inspired to make a difference in people's lives, he decided to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education from Alcorn State University in Mississippi, Master of Arts in Religion Education from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, Master of Education in Public Administration from Tuskegee University in Alabama and a Doctor of Ministry from Montgomery Bible Institute in Alabama. He began his career in Massachusetts as a Soil Conservationist and retired in Alabama as State Resource Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Subsequently, Dr. Jones served as a Pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church for eight years before accepting a position as a Senior Pastor of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church.

As senior pastor, Dr. Jones provides Christian and moral principles to a congregation of more than 1,050 members, while also providing counseling, officiating weddings, funerals and conducting other duties to uplift his parishioners. In addition to these responsibilities, he supervises the activities of the Greater Peace Community Development Corporation (GPCDC) a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Through the GPCDC, an Affordable Housing Developments consisting of 49 homes, three and four bedrooms have been constructed. As a result of the GPCDC's exemplary efforts, the organization was presented with a national award for their efforts in affordable housing in Washington, D.C. Likewise, the GPCDC operates a pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds as well as several other programs, such as a youth leadership academy, a STEM program, a Summer Education Enrichment Program (SEP) and a tutorial after-school program.

For his exceptional undertakings as a pastor and community leader, Dr. Jones was inducted into the Alcorn State University Hall of Honors. He also accepted the Humanitarian Service Award from the Auburn University School of Agriculture, the Martin Luther King Community Service Award from the Dream Day Foundation, and An Outstanding Leadership Award from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. He has attributed his professional success to his family and his faith, which has kept him on the right path. In the coming years, Dr. Jones plans to retire and dedicate his time to his wonderful wife, writing, and traveling.
