Mr. Cohen is renowned as a retired chemical company sales executive with more than 25 years of excellence in his field. Early in his life, he discovered an interest in science, and was drawn to chemical engineering when his cousin, an engineer, explained his job to him. Mr. Cohen initially pursued an education at Drexel University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1975.
From 1975 to 1983, Mr. Cohen began his career as a sales representative for Union Carbide, operating out of their locations in Hackensack, NJ, and San Francisco. He further flourished with the aforementioned company as a sales training and education supervisor from 1983 to 1985, a market manager from 1985 to 1988 and a regional sales manager at their Garland, Texas, location from 1989 to 1993. Mr. Cohen concluded his tenure with Union Carbide as a regional senior accounts manager from 1993 to 1996.
Mr. Cohen later found success as a national accounts manager for Dow Chemical in Plano, from 1996 to 2001, and an accounts manager for Dow Chemical Specialty Latex from 2002 to 2006. During his time as an accounts manager for the latex division, he proudly led a product implementation team to assist a client, resulting in the growth of their account from a single order of two million pounds of latex to more than 220 million pounds on a recurring basis. Subsequently, Mr. Cohen excelled as a regional sales manager for Nuplex from 2006 until his retirement in 2017.
In addition to his work with client accounts, Mr. Cohen was active as an instructor and internal curriculum developer for sales professionals at all levels. He has been recognized with four awards from Union Carbide and Dow Chemical for consistently being in the top ten percent of sales representatives. Likewise, he was responsible for tripling sales for a major paint manufacturer. A former volunteer for Big Brothers of America, Mr. Cohen enjoys traveling, reading and golfing in his well-deserved retirement.
