Choosing to reinvent herself after the housing crash of 2009, Ms. Leonard founded TLC Marketing & Creative Services Inc. (TLC) in Bonita Springs. A self-starter who believed that she could successfully operate her own business as a result of her extensive background and experience, her agency offers a full range of public relations, marketing and branding services to clients throughout Southwest Florida and beyond. In addition, her team is very diverse in event planning services for individuals and business owners, such as galas, fundraisers, weddings and grand opening events.
Becoming an expert in marketing, events marketing and public relations over the years, Ms. Leonard began her career as a marketing and sales director for McDonald's and Adams & O'Reilly Inc. After 20 years with both the corporate and franchise division, she was recruited as the membership director for the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. She also worked in business development for Odle McGuire Shook Corporation as the director and in 2010, Florida SBDC at FGCU hired TLC to handle their daily marketing and events. Having briefly attended college, Ms. Leonard holds several certifications, including Institute of Organizational Management for completing a four-year program through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 2005. She continues to broaden her skills on a daily basis.
Strongly supporting her community, Ms. Leonard currently flourishes as the president of the Bonita Springs Downtown Alliance, the co-chairman of the Bonita Springs Historical Society Festival of Trees and the director of the Bonita Springs Short Film Festival. She is also active as the past president of the Zonta Club of Bonita Springs-Estero and the President Americus of the Everglades Wonder Gardens. TLC Marketing and Creative Services has been additionally involved in various causes. Ms. Leonard notes that she anticipates contributing to her community in the coming years, especially in the wake of the effects that COVID-19 has had on many local citizens and the surrounding environment.
In 2020, TLC Marketing & Creative Services was recognized for the Best of Marketing and Event Planning by the Bonita Springs Award Program for TLC Marketing & Creative Services. She was also honored as the Citizen of the Year by the USA Today Network and Naples Daily News in 2016 and was lauded as the Woman of the Year by the Zonta Club of Bonita Springs-Estero in 2011. Furthermore, her company was celebrated as the Small Business of the Year by the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce in 2018 and Estero Chamber of Commerce in 2015. Besides her many accolades, Ms. Leonard was recognized for her philanthropic efforts and achievements when the Welcome Center at the Everglades Wonder Gardens was renamed as the Trish Leonard Welcome Center and most recently, developed and sponsors a new swim program at the local YMCA titled "License to Swim", providing funds for any child to learn to swim at no cost. This pilot program is in its first stage.
