Born in Bluefield, West Virginia and raised by Thomas and Vera Folds, Dr. Folds joined the United States Army in the mid-1980s and served in the Fifth Special Forces Group (Airborne) during the Persian Gulf War. Upon returning home, he became licensed and ordained by the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, which began his career in ministry. Over the years, he studied through Excelsior University during nine years in the military, received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Biblical studies from Lighthouse Christian College, certification of a foreign research doctorate for international study, as well as a PhD from Covenant Bible College and Seminary.
During the late 1990s, Dr. Folds founded The Christian Church of God Inc., as well as Hope Again House, a homeless shelter that caters to women with children who are escaping abusive relationships. Throughout his career, he also established a group home for boys and a state-licensed Child Placing Agency and fostered 45 teenagers in his own home in order to help them work through mental health issues and terms of juvenile probation. More recently, he became the owner of Phenomenon Kingdom Publishing & Realty Corporation, and an author with Xulon Press through which he has written "The Shroud of Turin and Historical Proof of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ: The Existential Crisis and the Gospel Message," "Love and Relationships: Kindness and Empathy over Bullying and Psychological Abuse" and "Science Discovers God: The Mystery of Quantum Physics and Light," just to name a few.
Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Folds aligns himself with the Gospel Coalition, the International Association of Biblical Counselors, the Association of International Educators and the NAFSA. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is most grateful to have expanded the scope of his career into the field of writing and pastoral counseling. Looking toward the future, Dr. Folds intends to author another book, and continue to give his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the honor for all!
