Moreover, throughout his career, he served as a professor of clinical surgery and director of trauma and surgical critical care for the Morehouse School of Medicine.
In his roles at Grady Memorial Hospital, Dr. Matthews participated on numerous committees, including the after cardiac arrest committee, the trauma committee, the campus library committee and the electronic health record committee. Likewise, he acted as a member of the Education Committee and the Residency Advisory Committee at the Morehouse School of Medicine.
