Inspired by his father, who owned a mid-size plumbing company, Mr. Cardoza attended SUNY Farmingdale from 1984 through 1986 before joining newly formed Cardoza Winer Corp. Over the course of a decade, he made consistent advancements, serving as an apprentice, plumber (attending union trade school), foreman, estimator, project manager, director of estimating and vice president of operations. During these years Mr. Cardoza also attended Mechanics Institute, NYU for facility and healthcare piping and design and Purdue University for advanced project management.

Through his varied work experience and learning the business from hand selected employees as well as from his father, he became a licensed plumber in 1999 and subsequently developed into the role of president of Cardoza Plumbing Corp. partnering with his sister Marie Cardoza who was performing accounting as well as other office responsibilities and duties at Cardoza Winer Corp.

In his work as head of the company, Mr. Cardoza oversees the estimating process, sales, and pricing and coordinates with clients. He also oversees all project management and field operations of the company. As an expert in hospital and institutional type plumbing systems he has created a reputable company widely renowned to perform such work. To remain aware of developments affecting his field, he aligns himself with the Association of Contracting Plumbers of the City of New York, Inc., and the New York State Association of Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors. He also attends in person and virtual seminars on current changes and new state of the art plumbing systems and tools affecting the plumbing industry.

Known for his contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Mr. Cardoza aligns himself with the Association for Children with Down syndrome, Special Olympics of New York and Contractors For Kids on Long Island. To commemorate his accomplishments, he received the Family of the Year Award and Corporation of the Year Award through the Association for Children with Down Syndrome raising over 1 million dollars during the dinner-dance galas over the past 24 years. In a career filled with highlights, he is most proud of obtaining his plumbing license in 1999 and volunteering his time with young Down syndrome adults with his son Raymond Jr. who also has Down syndrome. Looking toward future, Mr. Cardoza aims to welcome the next generation of his family to the business in order to maintain and cement a family legacy.
