Elfreda Ruth Stangland has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

    MEDINA, NY, June 23, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Elfreda Ruth Stangland has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. An expert in psychiatric nursing, Ms. Stangland has served as a nurse for more than 35 years. To prepare for her career in healthcare, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from the College at Brockport of the State University of New York and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rochester, both in 1985. Well qualified in her field and possessed of a deep well of empathy for her patients, Ms. Stangland also attained a certificate in nursing management from Cornell University.

Following her academic accomplishments, Ms. Stangland began her career as a part-time nurse at an in-service psychiatric facility in 1987. In 1990, she became the head of the medical department for the New York State School for the Blind. After concluding this role, she accepted a position as a nursing administrator for the New York State Veterans Home at Batavia in 1995, from which she departed in 1998. Ms. Stangland subsequently served as a psychiatric nursing consultant for IPRO.

In addition to her primary career endeavors, Ms. Stangland functioned as the owner of the historic Rex Hotel. She also serves as the president of the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the U.S. Daughters of 1812. While holding this office, she was honored with an award from the state organization for her leadership in creating and executing the making of General Peter Porter's grave in Niagara Falls for his contribution to the war effort more than two centuries past.

An avid gardener and lover of yardwork, Ms. Stangland is a garden columnist and a member of the Warsaw Garden Study Club of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State. She is also a lifetime member of the Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs and a founding member of the Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs, an educational subgroup that encourages students to acquire education in horticulture.
