FAIRFIELD,, IA, June 27, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David L. Hawk, director of the Center for Corporate Rehabilitation, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the April/May 2025 national edition of Fortune magazine.

Dr. Hawk is highly regarded in systems science, international business and environmental preservation. Supported by over four decades of experience, he currently directs his Center for Corporate Rehabilitation, where he maintains his longstanding role in managing climate change consequences from industrial practices. Through decades of studying the disconnects between human behavior and natural environments, he provides advice to corporate leaders and his past students on how to create "business as unusual" for a better future. Growing up on an Iowa farm with concern about industrial agriculture, followed by a tour of duty in the Vietnam War and experience in misguided development projects, he challenged conventional understandings. Since 1975, he has concentrated on changes needed to effectively respond to climate change consequences.

A trailblazer in aligning corporate conduct with environmental stewardship, Dr. Hawk previously worked at The Wharton School, then the Stockholm School of Economics. In Stockholm, he helped create the Institute of International Business that began with a project into relations between business activities and environmental deterioration. With the help of participants, he studied the effectiveness of six nations attempting to regulate 20 companies, the results of which attracted corporate leaders worldwide. Its main conclusion was "business as usual" would lead to climate change by 2000.

Dr. Hawk was also an associate dean for a School of Architecture to help it receive its first accreditation. Then, while a dean of a School of Management, the accrediting body named his school the Most Improved School of Business in North America. Both responsibilities were at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he was a professor from 1981 to 2010. Concurrently, he took numerous leaves and was a visiting professor in Sweden, Finland, Japan and China, initiating international research projects while teaching students and advising companies.

Dr. Hawk has been a senior advisor to IBM, IKEA, Obayashi, China State Construction, Bouygues, Shimizu and China Construction America. He helped expand one of these companies' revenue from $30 billion to $200 billion per year by focusing on climate change infrastructure projects and developing a model to shift leadership from formal hierarchies to less formal self-management. Those involved replaced formal directives with task-dependent self-management to give shared responsibility for results. This "Hawk's Model" better fits the 21st century shifts from fixed hierarchical organization to fluid information technology networking.

Dr. Hawk is a prolific author, writing several books on environmental sustainability and systems thinking, replacing partial analysis. Two of his books, "Too Early, Too Late, Now What?" and "Short-Term Gain, Long-Term Pain: Climate Change as a Faustian Tragedy," explore the critical need to prepare for global climate change consequences, the foremost book being displayed in the Library of Congress. His forthcoming book, "The Climate is Changing, Can Humans?", is slated for release in 2025.

To attest to his success, Dr. Hawk was recognized as IBM's International Professor of the Year in 2004. He is engaged in his most recent project concerning dimensionality, aiming to assist others in understanding different perspectives and dimensions of existence.
