FAIRFIELD, IA, June 27, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David L. Hawk, director of the Center for Corporate Rehabilitation, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the March 2025 Cedar Rapids/Des Moines edition of TIME magazine.
Dr. Hawk is distinguished as the director of the Center for Corporate Rehabilitation, assuming his role in 2005. Drawing upon more than 40 years of professional experience, he previously served as the chief executive officer of the Foundation of the Eternal Feminine from 2016 to 2019 and was a visiting lecturer at Tsinghua University between 2004 and 2012. Earlier in his career, Dr. Hawk was a senior advisor to China Construction America Inc. for 15 years, during which time he helped the company grow from $30 billion to $200 billion in revenue per year.
Other vocational appointments to Dr. Hawk's credit have included serving as a professor and dean of the Schools of Architecture and Management at the New Jersey Institute of Technology between 1981 and 2013. Previously, he was a visiting professor at the Stockholm School of Economics from 1975 to 1996, where he and a friend created a new research center, the Institute of International Business. Dr. Hawk designed and managed its first major research project that was focused on environmental deterioration, resulting in what was then seen as acceptable industrial practices. The project captured the interest of 20 major companies and six different governments that were regulating their facilities. A 1979 book on the results warned of approaching climate change if humans didn't take action. The Financial Times of London selected the institute as the world's leading international business research group. Dr. Hawk also served as a part-time visiting professor at Tokyo Metropolitan University and was an architect-planning officer for the City of Westminster in the United Kingdom from 1971 to 1972.
Dr. Hawk received a Bachelor of Architecture in engineering from Iowa State University in 1971. Thereafter, he earned a Master of Architecture and a Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania in 1974. Subsequently, he received a Doctor of Philosophy in system science and international business from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1979.
Dr. Hawk was a commission member and testifier for the Organization for Net Neutrality and is affiliated with the World Financial Council. He continues to advise companies and academic institutions on environmental management. In his work, Dr. Hawk emphasizes the critical need to prepare for the consequences of climate change. His work on the subject is supported by his past membership with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, an estimated 100 scientific papers and six notable books he has published on the topic.
PUBLISHING HIGHLIGHTS
A prolific writer, Dr. Hawk most recently penned "Short-Term Gain, Long-Term Pain: Climate Change as a Faustian Tragedy" in 2022. He is well known for his 2019 work, "Too Early, Too Late, Now What?," which is on display in the Library of Congress. An earlier book was republished as "Humans are F***ed!" Furthermore, Dr. Hawk authored award-winning papers on "Negotiated Order and Network Form Organizations" in 2005 and "Changelessness and Other Impediments to Systems Change" in 1999. Collaborating with two colleagues, he also wrote "Relationship Alignment: Reducing Friction, Realizing Value" for the chief executive officer of IBM in 2004. Dr. Hawk's first book, "Regulation of Environmental Deterioration," was published by The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1979.
