Dr. Callins, a distinguished speech and language pathologist, has made significant strides in education and therapy services. As the founder and chief executive officer of the Language & Literacy Academy for Learning since 2017, she has dedicated herself to creating an inclusive educational environment that supports students with different learning abilities, especially in language and literacy skills. Dr. Callins began her journey as a medical-based speech and language pathologist, where she managed rehabilitation departments in nursing homes for over a decade. This experience laid the foundation for her transition into educational leadership.

In addition to her role at the academy, Dr. Callins is the founder and chief executive officer of The C-Suite Chic, a position she has held since 2024. Through this initiative, she focuses on guiding black women in the C-suite through the complexities of leadership.

Dr. Callins's career trajectory included serving as the regional director of operations at Diversicare Therapy Services, a premier provider of post-acute care, from 2015 to 2017 and as the regional director of rehabilitation services at Avante Group, a health care facility that specializes in skilled nursing, assisted living, rehabilitation and post-acute services, between 2012 and 2015. She also garnered success as the district manager at Aegis Therapies from 2009 to 2012 and as an assistant therapy program manager at Ambassador Rehab Services between 2008 and 2009. Dr. Callins' early career included positions as a speech-language pathologist at Genesis Rehab Services and Spring Lake Nursing Center.

Dr. Callins's academic background is rooted in her studies. She initially earned a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of South Florida in communication sciences and disorders and speech and language pathology, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in special education. She also completed coursework at Florida A&M University. Dr. Callins' educational achievements have been instrumental in her success, providing her with the expertise to address complex communication disorders and reading disabilities.

Adding to her credibility, Dr. Callins holds membership in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, where she contributes to advancing the field through research and advocacy. She is also actively involved with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women as chair of the education committee and board member, as well as being part of the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools and Florida Charter School Alliance.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Callins is deeply committed to civic engagement. She serves as a pastor in Plant City, Florida, and volunteers at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City. Her dedication to education has been recognized with an Excellence in Education Award from the Education 2.0 Conference. In June, Dr. Callins was awarded the Education Influencer of the Year by Fluxx Awards 2025 Hong Kong. Devoted to raising awareness for students with disabilities, Dr. Callins is eager to continue ensuring they graduate with high school diplomas, pursue further education, or enter the workforce.
