Mr. Florsheim's legal journey began at Foley & Lardner LLP, where he served as the leader of the firm's intellectual property litigation practice group and later as the chair of the firm's intellectual property law department. During his tenure as department chair, a survey conducted by a leading industry publication rated Foley's intellectual property law department as the No. 1 IP practice in the United States. Mr. Florsheim also chaired two other departments in the firm and served on the management committee.
Mr. Florsheim's expertise in patent infringement litigation is widely recognized. He has been featured in international publications as one of the top 50 patent litigators in the United States. His notable achievements include serving as chairman of the committee that drafted the first model patent jury instructions for use nationwide.
Mr. Florsheim's academic background laid a strong foundation for his legal career. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Marquette University Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice before multiple U.S. District Courts and Courts of Appeal.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Florsheim is deeply involved in civic activities. He has served on various boards, including those of the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Urban League. His commitment to community service is evident through his service as president of the Marquette Law Alumni Association, his presidency at Ohr Hatorah Jewish Heritage Center, his chairmanship of the Jewish Foundation of Economic Opportunity and his board memberships with organizations such as the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Milwaukee Jewish Council, and the National Conference of Christians and Jews, Wisconsin Region.
As an author, Mr. Florsheim has made significant contributions to legal literature with works such as "Inside the Minds: Leading Intellectual Property Lawyers" and co-authoring "Biotechnology Patent Practice."
In his personal life, Mr. Florsheim is supported by his spouse, Dr. Neena Florsheim, and their children, Ali, David and Rebecca.
