PITTSBURGH, PA, July 11, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alexander Hernandez has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Hernandez has built a distinguished career in law and consulting, marked by his expertise in corporate governance. As associate counsel at Alcoa Corporation since January 2025, he has managed securities law compliance related to Alcoa's listings on the New York Stock Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange and he has been instrumental in implementing a new records management system. His role also involves advising executive leadership and the board of directors on corporate governance best practices for multinational firms and designing standard operating procedures for global legal functions, showcasing his adeptness in navigating complex legal matters and frameworks.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Hernandez served as an associate at Goodwin Procter LLP from 2021 to 2024. During this time, he played a pivotal role in representing Moderna in international vaccine sales. His work on "Project Resilience" involved negotiating large supply agreements and contributing to the construction of manufacturing facilities in Canada and Australia. These efforts underscored his commitment to global health initiatives and demonstrated his ability to manage high-stakes legal negotiations.
Mr. Hernandez's legal journey began at Boston University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2021. His academic pursuits were complemented by practical experiences as a student advocate at the BU/MIT Technology Law Clinic and the BU/MIT Startup Law Clinic. These roles allowed him to engage with clients on business formation and intellectual property issues, providing a solid foundation for his future endeavors.
Before attending law school, Mr. Hernandez gained valuable experience as a consulting senior analyst at Accenture from 2016 to 2018. He coordinated a significant SAP rollout for the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation and contributed to the construction of nuclear reactors at Plant Vogtle in Georgia. His exceptional performance earned him the Analyst of the Quarter award in 2017, highlighting his analytical prowess and leadership skills.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Hernandez is actively involved in civic initiatives. He has participated in pro bono work for small businesses through Goodwin's Neighborhood Business Initiative, reflecting his dedication to supporting local communities. His membership in the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association further underscores his commitment to the legal profession.
Before obtaining his Juris Doctor, Mr. Hernandez earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Vanderbilt University, completed in 2016. This diverse academic foundation has been instrumental in shaping his multifaceted career path, allowing him to navigate various industries with ease.
Mr. Hernandez attributes his success to the support of his family, stating that he wouldn't have achieved any of this without them. During his time working with Moderna, he was part of efforts aimed at saving lives and was engaged in fast-paced work. Tragically, he lost his mother to cancer during this period. This personal loss motivated him to immerse himself in his work, as the people around him helped keep him engaged and focused. He emphasizes that their support has been the most significant factor in his journey.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Hernandez enjoys cooking, dancing and gardening. He envisions building a supportive community around him in Pittsburgh, where he plans to apply his extensive knowledge and experience while learning from others. With aspirations of becoming an integral part of the Pittsburgh legal community, he is poised to make meaningful contributions to both his profession and the community he calls home.
