NEW ELLENTON, SC, August 07, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lisa Tanner, MBA, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Tanner has established a distinguished career marked by her expertise in supply chain management and small business advocacy. Currently serving as the small business liaison officer at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, she plays a pivotal role in advocating for small businesses and assisting them in navigating the complexities of federal government contracts. Since assuming this position in 2022, her responsibilities have included working with both large and small suppliers to enhance their performance, introducing suppliers to the site and aiding the procurement department in identifying suppliers that meet their necessary requirements. Her dedication to supporting small businesses is exemplified by her achievement of a record spend with small businesses, committing nearly $800 million last year.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Tanner contributed her skills to Generac in Trenton, South Carolina, where she worked in supply chain management from 2021 to 2022. Her tenure there was marked by her ability to streamline operations and improve supplier engagement, drawing on her extensive experience in the field.

Ms. Tanner's most notable professional milestone was her 27-year tenure at STIHL from 1994 to 2021. During this period, she played an instrumental role in the company's growth, overseeing a significant increase in production from a few hundred thousand units annually to over four million units by the time of her retirement. Her leadership was particularly crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic when she and her team successfully navigated challenges with raw material shortages and labor constraints to keep the facility operational.

While at STIHL, several of Ms. Tanner's roles were created specifically to match her unique skill set. She emphasizes the importance of remaining open to unexpected career paths, not limiting aspirations to what is immediately visible. In her case at STIHL, had she confined her vision to predefined positions, she believes she would not have reached her current level of success.

Before embarking on her corporate career, Ms. Tanner served with distinction in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. Committed to continuous education throughout her career, she attributes much of her success to mentors who recognized potential she had not seen in herself. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping her professional journey. She also acknowledges the role that her strong work ethic and discipline have played in her accomplishments.

Ms. Tanner's academic achievements have been foundational to her professional accomplishments. She earned a Master of Business Administration in electrical and electronics engineering from Saint Leo University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in business administration and management from Averett University. Additionally, she holds a Six Sigma Certification from Villanova University, which has further enhanced her capabilities in process improvement and efficiency.

Ms. Tanner's contributions to her sector have been recognized with several prestigious accolades, including the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award and the Small Business Program Manager of the Year award. Civically, she volunteers with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Looking ahead, Ms. Tanner remains committed to contributing to Savannah River's new mission assigned by the Department of Energy. She is dedicated to supporting the site's transition from an environmental management site to a National Nuclear Security Administration site, ensuring its success in fulfilling this new responsibility and mission.
