LOS ANGELES, CA, August 07, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael D. Schwartz has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Schwartz, owner of The Michael Schwartz Firm since 2021, has cultivated a distinguished career in law, marked by his dedication to his clients and his passion for justice. He boasts a high success rate and a proven track record in over 200 trials, more than most attorneys, including multiple high-profile cases in the last fifteen years. He is known by both colleagues and clients for his deep commitment to understanding the personal and legal stakes his clients face, recognizing that each case involves not just legal outcomes but real impacts on lives, families and futures.
Prior to establishing his own firm, he was a partner at Rains Lucia Stern PC from 2013 to 2021, where he was contracted to represent police officers in high-profile criminal and administrative litigation. His tenure as of counsel at Lackie Dammeyer McGill Ethir APC for the preceding year solidified his expertise in the field. Earlier in his journey, he served as an attorney and then partner at Silver, Hadden & Silver from 2001 to 2012, following his foundational experience with the Public Defender's Offices in Ventura and Riverside Counties from 1993 to 2001.
Mr. Schwartz's journey into law was influenced by his academic background and early professional experiences. He earned a Juris Doctor from The National Law Center at the George Washington University in 1993, after completing a bachelor's degree in radio and television broadcasting technology at Hofstra University in 1987. Before entering law school, he worked with ABC Television, Cablevision Inc., CNN and USA Networks Inc. His transition from communications to law was encouraged by a professor who recognized his potential for legal practice. This shift was supported by the relationships he built with mentors during his internships with The Honorable Michael Rankin and The Honorable Zinora Mitchell-Rankin.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Schwartz has contributed significantly to legal education as an adjunct professor at Whittier Law School from 2016 to 2019. His commitment to nurturing new talent is also evident in his volunteer work with local armed security services, as well as law enforcement, where he teaches about the legal aspects of use of force and self-defense. He has furthered his professional network with membership in The State Bar of California, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the North Orange County Bar Association and Lawyers of Distinction.
Outside his primary work, Mr. Schwartz's literary pursuits have also been noteworthy. He authored "Another Time, Another Place ....: A Collection of Poems" in 2025 and "Trial, and the Art of Sailing: A Guidebook for New (and Not So New) Attorneys to Navigate Trial Advocacy, and Life" in 2023. These works reflect his desire to leave a legacy of guidance and inspiration to both new attorneys, law students, and the general public. He anticipates his third book, "Sacreds," a multi-cultural novel focusing on issues of self-esteem, faith, parental relationships, and tolerance being released in late 2025.
Honored for his achievements, Mr. Schwartz has been featured in Los Angeles Magazine and has received the Southern California Super Lawyers award from Thomson Reuters since 2016. Additionally, he has greatly contributed to higher education in Jewish schools and has been acknowledged by Lawyers of Distinction.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Schwartz cherishes spending time with his family and enjoys sailing, writing, cooking, learning Jewish law and mysticism, history, and exercising, as hobbies. As an Orthodox Jew who discovered his heritage later in life, he values most the deep connections he has formed with God, his family and his community, colleagues, and clients. Looking ahead, he envisions seeing his upcoming novel adapted into a film and hopes that some of his cases will be portrayed on the big screen due to their rich multicultural themes.
