Before founding K&M Engineering & Design, Corp., Mr. Karapetian contributed his expertise as a plan check engineer for the County of Santa Barbara from 2014 to 2019. In this position, he was responsible for reviewing construction documents for compliance with building codes and regulations, playing a vital role in safeguarding public safety through meticulous plan assessments.

From 2007 to 2014, Mr. Karapetian advanced his career at TTG Engineers (TMAD Taylor & Gaines) as a project engineer and structural associate. During his tenure, he worked on significant projects, including hospitals and schools, further developing his proficiency in large scale structural engineering applications.

Before relocating to the United States, Mr. Karapetian built a solid foundation in Iran at Javab Consulting Engineering. He served as a project engineer from 2003 to 2007, following a previous tenure as a structural design engineer from 1997 to 2002. His early professional journey began at the age of nineteen, when he started as a part-time drafter while residing in Iran, marking the start of an enduring commitment to the field of engineering.

Throughout his career, Mr. Karapetian has demonstrated expertise in architectural design, engineering and both residential and commercial project management. His dedication to professional development is reflected in his active memberships with the American Institute of Steel Construction and the International Code Council. He is also a past member of the American Concrete Institute.

Mr. Karapetian's academic background has been instrumental in shaping his career achievements. He earned a Master of Science in structural engineering from California State University, Northridge, in 2011, where he was recognized as the top student in his class with a grade point average of 3.96. This distinction highlights his dedication to academic excellence and technical expertise. He also holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an institution in Iran.

In addition to his formal education, Mr. Karapetian has obtained several professional certifications that have enhanced his capabilities within the industry. He is a licensed professional engineer and holds certificates in post-tension concrete training, as well as a project management certificate. These credentials have enabled him to lead complex projects and maintain high standards within his organization.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Karapetian is civically engaged as a member and donor of the Armenian Apostolic Church, reflecting his commitment to community involvement.
