Transitioning from military to civilian life presented challenges due to Mr. Blackwell's extensive deployment history; however, these experiences shaped his commitment to supporting veterans entering the civilian workforce. Notably, his contributions have been recognized through several awards from the United States military, underscoring his dedication and service.

Throughout his career, Mr. Blackwell has been dedicated to facilitating veterans' transitions into civilian organizations. He actively engages with skill bridge programs and collaborates with external recruiters to help veterans secure meaningful employment after their service. Drawing on his own experiences, he ensures that younger veterans are aware of the benefits available through the military and the Veterans Administration. His advocacy for veterans is further reflected in his involvement with organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, Freedom Alliance and several state chapters of health care technology management in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

Mr. Blackwell's educational background includes coursework in health care technology management, which provided foundational knowledge essential for his success in both military and civilian roles.
