Mrs. Spikes established her professional foundation during a seven-year tenure at the Close Up Foundation (2013–2020), where she specialized in general accounting, fundraising compliance, and the management of grants and contracts. Throughout her career, she has maintained a high standard of financial and personnel management, including the independent management of clean audits and overseeing multimillion-dollar portfolios across both public and private sectors.

Her technical expertise is backed by a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2019 and a certification as a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) from BDO Nonprofit & Education Practice in 2020. She previously earned a Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Finance from Virginia State University in 2009.

Mrs. Spikes is the founder and owner of Sweet Macxine's Desserts, an online cheesecake business inspired by her late grandmother's recipes. Through this venture, she shares homemade desserts while supporting youth development. Sweet Macxine's Desserts awards students attending historically Black colleges and universities through annual scholarship opportunities. An advocate for community empowerment, she seeks to expand these efforts further as an alumna herself who strongly believes in education and community development.

Beyond her professional, her commitment to service extends to her role in finance at Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church, where her volunteerism has been recognized with multiple awards. She serves as the Finance Chair, a board member and a fundraising team participant. Additionally, she is currently a member of the Worldwide Women Alliance Network (WWA) since 2026, the DC Chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance (AFWA) since 2019, and Human Resource Management (SHRM) since 2023.

A native of Washington, D.C., Jherrica attributes her success to a strong foundation of family support. The unwavering encouragement of her mother, who instilled confidence and resilience during her formative years, helped her navigate life's challenges and master new skills across various responsibilities.
