AUSTIN, TX, May 08, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Twaski Simmons has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Simmons has established himself as an expert in trauma coaching and training, demonstrating a commitment to advancing mental health practices and organizational leadership. Since 2018, he has served as chief executive officer, founder, and trauma-informed care practitioner at the Trauma Coaching and Training Center in Austin, Texas. In this capacity, Mr. Simmons secured contracts with both the first and fifth trauma recovery centers in the United States, both located in Austin. He distinguished himself by offering free training to organizations, focusing on prevention and early intervention rather than traditional crisis response models that emphasize therapy referrals and medication. Recognizing the limitations of existing systems, he developed a two-step model that begins with training and coaching, followed by therapy if necessary. This innovative approach initially faced resistance from some mental health professionals concerned about its impact on therapy demand. However, Mr. Simmons persisted, presenting his findings in New Orleans and publishing an article on the subject. His presentation was well received, leading to broader acceptance of his model, which emphasizes layered support prior to therapy.

A hallmark of Mr. Simmons's career is his dedication to leadership development within his teams. He takes pride in having mentored individuals who have gone on to surpass his own achievements, including a training specialist who advanced to a top-tier supervisory role. By fostering an environment where advancement is encouraged and not micromanaged, he has enabled team members to realize their potential and pursue leadership opportunities. Many of those he has guided continue to maintain contact with him, reflecting the lasting impact of his mentorship. Mr. Simmons's leadership philosophy draws from John Maxwell's "The 21 Laws of Leadership," particularly the Law of the Lid, which asserts that an organization cannot rise above the capabilities of its leader.

Before founding the Trauma Coaching and Training Center, Mr. Simmons served as a supervisory training specialist at the Federal Emergency Management Agency from 2006 to 2025. During his tenure at FEMA, he initially focused on developing supervisory skills among agency leaders but observed limited behavioral change after traditional training. This realization prompted him to incorporate trauma education into his programs, leading to more meaningful improvements in team dynamics and management practices. His experience at FEMA was instrumental in shaping his understanding of trauma's impact on workplace performance and inspired his transition into trauma-focused coaching and training.

From 2002 to 2018, Mr. Simmons also served as the chief executive officer, founder, and trauma-informed care practitioner at D'Affluenza. In this role, he laid the groundwork for his later initiatives by emphasizing holistic approaches to personal development and resilience.

Mr. Simmons's academic background has been foundational to his professional accomplishments. He earned a Master of Arts in sociology from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge in 2002, after completing a Bachelor of Arts in sociology at the same institution. His educational journey continued with specialized certifications that have enhanced his expertise: a master's diploma in mental health coaching from Light University in 2025; a diploma in mental health from Alison in 2023; trauma and recovery practitioner certification from Place of Bliss Academy in 2024; trauma informed care practitioner certification from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2019; as well as diplomas in early childhood development and building resilience from Austin Peay State University in 2003.

The values instilled by his grandparents during his upbringing in rural Louisiana have profoundly influenced Mr. Simmons's approach to leadership and service. He credits these formative experiences for shaping his character and providing him with a moral foundation that distinguishes him from his peers.

Mr. Simmons's commitment extends beyond professional settings into civic engagement as a volunteer with AAYHF, where he contributes to community-focused initiatives supporting youth and families. His dedication has been recognized through honors such as the Education and Excellence Award in 2026 and the Humanitarian Award in 2024.

Born in Baton Rouge, Mr. Simmons enjoys writing short stories and poetry as personal pursuits in addition to his professional endeavors. Looking ahead, he is dedicated to ensuring that the Trauma Coaching And Training Center fulfills its mission by delivering impactful training, coaching and messaging that transform lives across communities—empowering youth, families and business leaders alike through proven strategies for resilience and growth.
