AVCON Completes Raleigh Projects and Celebrates 20 Years

Raleigh's new cathedral is just one of its recent success stories

These projects are fitting highlights of the company's 20-year adventure, which began in July 1997, when Yarborough launched an audio-visual firm in the basement of a friend's office building in Cary.

CARY, NC, July 19, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When the much-anticipated Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral is dedicated in Raleigh on July 26, everyone will be studying the handiwork of the artisans who worked on the cathedral. While they may not see it, they will also be enjoying the handiwork of Frank Yarborough and the AVCON Team, the highly respected audio-visual engineering and design/build firm in Cary.

The congregation may not realize the difference that 20+ years of knowledge, talent, and skill can make in how you experience an important ceremony such as the cathedral dedication. The AVCON team doesn't mind that its work may go unnoticed; when an audio system is unnoticed, that can be a very good thing. That means that the system is doing its job right.

The Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral work is one of at least four marquee projects that AVCON is wrapping up just as the company celebrates its 20th anniversary. Along with the cathedral project, AVCON is also finishing its work implementing the audio-visual solutions for St Mary Magdalene Church's new building, Grifol's new administration building and a beautiful new nine-story Raleigh facility for Allscripts healthcare IT company.

These projects are fitting highlights of the company's 20-year adventure, which began in July 1997, when Yarborough launched an audio-visual firm in the basement of a friend's office building in Cary.

After 11 years as a technology and audio-visual salesman, he had a vision for a company that would be driven by passion and an ideal to ensure that clients enjoy a superior experience. He has met that goal many times over: AVCON, now run by Yarborough and his partner Nick Sennert, the company's Director of Operations, works with major corporate clients such as Cisco and Duke Progress Energy, as well as providing state-of-the-art systems for places of worship, Cary Arts Center performing arts venue and other public spaces, including the NC State baseball stadium.

There have been plenty of challenges and lessons learned along the way, but Yarborough believes they all add to the value that the AVCON team brings to the table today. Those hard-won lessons led AVCON to offer an unusual promise to customers -- that their satisfaction is literally guaranteed.

"When I started, I didn't know how to go from ground zero to achieving results," he says. "I had to learn how to build and guide a team, and we all had to mature together. There's always the good, the bad and the ugly, but you're in it together. After all these years, you hope you can sit in front of a prospective client and assure them that all of the lessons you've learned will be applied to their project., and that the AVCON Team's commitment will ensure their project's success."
