Germain Denis Honored for Excellence in World Trade Matters

    QUEBEC, CAN, April 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Germain Denis has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in world trade matters.

Germain Denis is a recognized authority on trade negotiations. His resume is extensive, with his most recent positions as executive director of the Food Aid Committee and the International Grains Council from 1995 to 2005. He there led international activities aimed at enhancing stability and transparency in world food and feed grain markets. He also promoted food security for developing nations.

Perhaps better known for his significant and lasting contributions in support of international free trade globally and within North America, many regard him as having been an instrumental figure in the establishment of the WTO as an institutional anchor in support of an open, fair and stable trading framework essential for growth and the realization of sustainable development opportunities. Denis now works as a free agent.

For his contributions to the field of international trade, Denis was honored with Cambridge Publishing's title of Professional of the Year in 2007, the World Medal of Freedom in 2005 by the American Biographical Institute, the Agri-Food Cooperation Medal by the International Industrial Academy in Russia in 2003, the Great Minds of the 21st Century Award and the American Medal of Honor. He also received the Alimentos Argentinos, the Ordre du Merite Agricole of France and the Merite Professionnel from the Bourse de Commerce de Paris.

Germain Denis holds a master's degree in public administration from Laval University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Sherbrooke. He has been affiliated with the following entities: African Presidential Archives and Research Center, Boston University; Canning House; Royal Institute of International Affairs and the World Trade Law Association in the UK, and the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association.
