Linda S. McKee Named to Exclusive Membership Organization

Linda S. McKee collaborates with others in transforming the educational system by improving the methodology and effectiveness of teachers



    NEW ORLEANS, LA, October 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda S. McKee, Director of Tulane University's Teacher Preparation and Certification Program, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.

With 20 years of professional experience, Ms. McKee attributes her success to her work ethic. As the director of Tulane University's Teacher Preparation and Certification Program, she is in charge of strategic planning, developing courses and assessments based on educational reform, evaluating faculty and staff members, hiring, reviewing reports, and instructing student interns and teachers. She has extensive experience in curriculum development and educational reform initiatives ranging from educational leadership development to policy development in Louisiana's Department of Education. Additionally, she has provided customized leadership training programs to school districts and helped to develop state-wide training modules. Her teaching experience includes educational leadership training for teachers, principals and district staff, secondary language arts and gifted education.

Ms. McKee is also associated with the Louisiana Association for Colleges of Teacher Education, an education dean's council. Before becoming a full-time educator, she was a volunteer in adult literacy, designed two non-profit organizations, and was co-owner of a wholesale produce company. The President-Elect of the Louisiana Affiliate of the National Staff Development Council, she is a member of the American Educational Research Association, Kappa Delta Pi, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

In 1995, Ms. McKee received her Master of Education from the University of Virginia. She received her Bachelor's Degrees in English and Secondary Education, and is a certified gifted education (K-12) and English teacher (5-12).
