Parents and Educators Embrace New Interactive Educational Picture Book

The cuddly bear, with his ornamental clothing, has grabbed the attention of kids, parents, caregivers, and educators.

The series revolves around the character Bali Bear and introduces one new Bahasa Indonesia word or phrase per book. As Bali Bear explores his surroundings and the people that he comes into contact with such as policemen, farmers, and shopkeepers a new word or phrase is introduced. Bali Bear teaches the children how to identify objects in another language while having fun as they read; perfect for early or lap readers. The Adventures of Bali Bear Jalan Jalan, published by Progressive Rising Phoenix Press, is the first installment of the series.

About the authors
John and Kim were regular visitors to Bali, before making the decision to live there permanently in 2009. While in Australia they owned a successful television production company in Perth, Western Australia, as well as having the only mobile Autocue (Teleprompter) system in the West. A friend had given Kim a small teddy bear as a going away gift (Tiny Ted), and Kim started to take photographs of the bear in different locations across Bali. She would send them to family and friends across the world, and this idea soon grew into an idea for the Bali Bear books. Adventures from the first six months in Bali filled the Bali Bear Adventure series. After a family tragedy, John and Kim found writing the adventure series an important part of their healing process. A successful reading at one of Bali's many International schools and many private readings to family and friends, including children who would not put the books down until they had finished them, encouraged John and Kim to find peace and acceptance of their loss and they continued to move forward slowly but surely throwing themselves into their successful children's series. Pursuing their dream, the Bali Bear Adventure series was published. John & Kim Herrington have been married for 29 years and are the parents of three children. They have five grandchildren and continue to live and write in Bali, Indonesia.
