ST. ANN, MO, July 12, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brookes Bible College, an evangelical higher academic institution serving the metro St. Louis region, has recently hired Ron Wenzel as Registrar, Dean of Students, and Chair of the Bible and Theology Department at the college.
Wenzel has been with Brookes Bible College since January as a part-time instructor and joined the staff in full this past April. His duties include setting up classes, recording grades, signing up new and returning students, coordinating student government, and serving on the Academic Committee.
Wenzel also assists the Academic Dean in many ways, including writing the responses of ABHE, the organization that is in the process of granting the college accreditation.
"I love knowing that what we are doing here is making an eternal difference and knowing that equipping people with Biblical knowledge will make the St. Louis area a better place," said Wenzel. "What a tremendous opportunity to be part of something that's 100 years old but brand-new and exciting at the same time!"
"We are thrilled to have Ron working with us," said Dr. Chris Stocklin, President of Brookes Bible College. "He has so much experience in the field of ministry, and we are confident that he will help us assist students both scholastically and spiritually."
Wenzel is a native of Alton and a graduate of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with a degree in communications. He also graduated summa cum laude from Midcontinent Bible College in Mayfield, Ky. Wenzel worked in insurance before working in the ministry field in the 1990s.
With nearly 20 years of experience in his field, Wenzel has served the field of ministry in several different ways and for many denominations. He was a youth minister in two different Presbyterian denominations, a pastor in two different Baptist denominations, and a preacher in a Methodist congregation as well.
Currently, Wenzel is the pastor of Rosewood Heights Community Church near Alton and also at Brookes Bible College. "These two places are where God wants me at the moment, I am confident of that," said Wenzel. "I love what I'm doing!"
Because of his desire to teach at the college and seminary levels, Wenzel took an interest in working with Brookes Bible College.
"I learned about Brookes Bible College from Chaplain Steve Pace, and things progressed from there," Wenzel said.
Wenzel is also an author and has recently published his first novel. "My first novel, Vonnegut's Ghost, was published last year and is sold on Amazon," Wenzel said. "I am currently working on a book about angels in the Bible and what we can know about them according to Scripture."
Wenzel is happily married to his wife of 35 years, Carolyn, and together they have two sons.
Brookes Bible College offers an affordable, two-year program. Each student gains a greater knowledge of the Bible. Brookes' students are equipped with tools for applying the knowledge they gain for various fields of Christian services.
