RMI Executives Make A Run For It In Bangkok To Fight Breast Cancer
As part of their on-going support for the Queen Sirikit Breast Cancer Foundation, executives at RMI participated in the recent Cancer Care Run. The event is sponsored by the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer at Chulalonghorn Hospital in Bangkok

Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the cells of the breast in women and men. Worldwide, breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer after lung cancer and the fifth most common cause of cancer deaths. In 2005, breast cancer caused 502,000 deaths worldwide.

Women in the United States have the highest incidence rates of breast cancer in the world. In 2007, breast cancer was expected to cause 40,910 deaths in the US.

Breast cancer screening is an attempt to find unsuspected cancers. The most common screening methods are self and clinical breast exams, x-ray mammography, and breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Genetic testing may also be used.
