Ms. Markashi's firm also offers interim leadership positions to assist companies with administrative efficiency, regulatory compliance, procedural flow, and other business areas, as well as other services such as compliance monitoring and oversight for increased quality of care, staff development, and training.
Ms. Markashi's distinguished and diverse career in health care began in Yonkers, New York, as a medical-oncology registered nurse at Saint John's Riverside Hospital and subsequently in Staten Island, New York, as a float team registered nurse at Staten Island University Hospital. After briefly working in pharmaceutical sales at AstraZeneca, she ultimately returned to the healthcare field as the director of clinical operations at the Visiting Nurse Association of Staten Island, and as a regional director of patient services and regional vice president of operations at Premier Home Health Care Services Inc. Just before establishing Markashi Home Health Care Consulting, Ms. Markashi also worked for several local health care organizations, including Supplemental Health Care, and Maxi Return, as a registered nurse and consultant.
In 2021, Ms. Markashi was selected to present online as a subject matter expert for an accreditation company in New Jersey. A career highlight, she was chosen shortly after establishing herself as an independent consultant.
A leader in her community, Ms. Markashi volunteers and donates her time to such charitable organizations as Catholic Charities USA, Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the American Red Cross, as well as events that support cancer and other illnesses. Ms. Markashi also advocates for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
A graduate of the College of Staten Island, City University of New York (CUNY), Ms. Markashi received an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing in 1995. Shortly after that, she garnered a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Psychology at Lehman College at CUNY in 1999. Additional educational pursuits to her credit include credentials as a licensed professional registered nurse in New York and New Jersey and certifications in Patient Access Essentials, Business of Health Care, and as a certified health care financial professional through the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) as well as a Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI). To remain aware of developments in her field, Ms. Markashi is also notably a member of the HFMA.
