Christian Readers Find Non-Affiliated Work Appealing

While CBA and ECPA affiliated publishers struggle to appeal to readers outside their original audience, author Sue Dent successfully fills the gap.

RIDGELAND, MS, May 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sue Dent never expected to have readers from the Christian market. She simply hoped someone would enjoy reading her stories as much as she enjoyed writing them. "I was both amazed and pleased, especially when I learned that publishers who serve this demographic won't publish stories like mine."

However, it seems their readership is moving beyond the appeal of narrowly targeted fiction. And now that Spring Arbor has deemed both Never Ceese (paperback edition) and Forever Richard, the first two installments in Sue's Thirsting for Blood Series, "socially acceptable," any Christian bookstore can order them.

"I'm glad my Christian readers can now order my book through their venues should they wish to." To learn more about Sue Dent you may visit her at www.ForeverRichard.com, www.NeverCeese.com, www.suedent.blogspot.com and www.thewriterscafe.com

Here's an idea of what Sue's fans are saying:

Of Never Ceese:

I simply can't give Sue Dent enough praise for this work. I truly adored it. It read like the work of a master storyteller, its narrative virtually flawless . . . This is Sue Dent's first work, and I am very proud of her. Very imaginative, stylistic, and highly entertaining, she excels without compromise to personal belief and the learned expertise it takes to write so well. I highly recommend it, and I can't recommend it enough. - Nicholas Grabowsky - Black Bed Sheet Books - author of Halloween IV

Sue Dent has done what few have dared to try, mixing elements of vampire and werewolf lore with themes of faith and spirituality. The result is an intriguing and exciting piece of fiction that is obsessively readable and entertaining on every level . . . It's a shame that major CBA publishers aren't willing to pursue more "outside the box" fiction like Never Ceese. - Jake Chism - Top 1000 Amazon Reviewer

. . . the story moves at a quick pace, leavened with humorous dialogue and clever insights. Dent's characters struggle with their cursed sinful natures . . . I guess I know what book to add to my Christmas list. With Dent circling the camp, someone's bound to wake up to this genre's possibilities. - Eric Wilson, author of the novelization of Facing the Giants and Fireproof

Of Forever Richard:

Insightful and thought provoking . . . well worth the wait! - Maryann Boo of The British Fantasy Society

Like Dracula, Forever Richard is respectful of the Christian worldview, and I'll be surprised if it doesn't drive stakes through the hearts of even more literary awards than did Never Ceese. - Frank Creed, award winning author of Flashpoint: Book One of the Underground.

While Sue Dent's writing was never intended to fit perfectly into the Christian Fiction mold, you can't help but notice the powerful messages of hope, love, and sacrifice that are so evident. I'm always drawn to fiction that uses the exploration of darkness to effectively shine the light and I have certainly found that with this series . . . My only complaint about Forever Richard is that I wanted more. - Jake Chism - Amazon top 1000 reviewer

Sue would like to thank those who've enjoyed her work so far. "I couldn't do it without you and I wouldn't even try."
