European Raw Art collaboration

Established Raw Self-taught artists, Piers Midwinter and Franco Meloni work together to create exciting exhibitions of raw art in Italy and Spain.

/24-7PressRelease/ - KENT, UK, January 03, 2006 - Established Raw Self-taught artists, Piers Midwinter and Franco Meloni work together to create exciting exhibitions of raw art in Italy and Spain. In December 2005, they successfully co-organised a group show of 'Raw Art' at the Arte Immagini Gallery in Cremona, Italy. The exhibition featured art by Franco, Piers, Ewan McDougall and Rosi Flood. The private view night held in December 2005 was well received. A local Mayor opened the show. The event was filmed and should be broadcast on Italian television. The exhibition was well publicized in local press. The exhibition was such a success - that the Gallery owner asked the exhibitors to extend public viewing by an extra week.

Franco and Piers are now working together with a view to create another exhibition of international raw art in Italy. So far, Franco and Piers have managed to find a fantastic venue near Florence called Villa Caruso. They are working the Gallery Elexpo in order to get good publicity. As a result the exhibition will receive a review from a well known local art critic. The provisional dates chosen for the exhibition will be March 2006. Villa Caruso was build in 1500 and during 1540 was acquired from the noble family of Pucci. During the year 1585, Abbot Alexander decided to create a paradisiacal place where it was possible to protect young artists and create a fine natural park. At the end of 1800 Villa was acquired from family Campi and during the 1906 the property passed to the famous tenor Enrico Caruso. During 1995, the Villa was repurchased from the local province 'Lastra a Signa'. Nowadays Villa Caruso promotes musical activities, it encourages collaborations with international organizations, it organizes conferences, exhibits art of interest to the 'Lastra a Signa' region, it establishes and reinforces friendship, collaboration between communities in the U.S.A. and Tuscany in the name of Enrico Caruso. The exhibition is widely expected to receive a lot of publicity. Artists are thus asked to book their spaces early in order to secure a space. These Raw Art exhibitions are amongst the first to be held in Italy. Piers will exhibit his art and is helping promote the event. For more information, please contact Franco Meloni.

Piers Midwinter has recently been interviewed live on 'Radio Europe Mediterraneo' Fm radio station (http://www.rem.fm/) which is Spain's largest English Language network for about fifteen minutes on 23rd December 2005 at 1.30 p.m Spanish time. Piers' was interviewed about his latest Raw Arts Festival in Valencia, Spain. The Festival will become Spain's first 'non-mainstream' arts festival. Piers' has managed to hire the prestigious Eventisimo P.R agency (www.eventisimo.com) to help promote the Festival. One result will be that the Valencia website (www.raf2006.com) will have both English and Spanish transcripts. Franco will exhibit his art and is helping promote the Festival.
