Everyday Guide Aims To Be Mainstream DIY and How To Site

Being almost one year old, Everyday Guide is ready to make the step up and project itself as a mainstream DIY guide blog. Webmaster Althaf Ahmed discusses about the main aim of the blog and challenges involved in running it.

BANGALORE, INDIA, June 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Everyday Guide, merely a simple blog with several posts when it was first established in August 2008 has turned out to be a quite popular and successful do-it-yourself (DIY) educational blog. Barely a few months away from celebrating its first anniversary, Everyday Guide now boasts of hosting 100s of mini guides which are not only comprehensive but also easy to understand for laymen and casual Internet users. In the Internet age, DIY guides can help save costs and following the guides is a good way to learn new skills and increase knowledge.

Its webmaster Althaf Ahmed is happy with the progress attained by Everyday Guide thus far and hopes that it will continue to grow to become a mainstream DIY repository blog. Althaf Ahmed also says, "Everyday Guide is the result of my vision and dream to build a free online repository of useful articles and reference materials. We hope Internet users find it useful and return often for more information." The goal of the site is to provide simple and practical guides geared to everyday living, both in professional and personal aspects.

The guides and reference materials available at Everyday Guide include topics about Medical Symptoms, consumer electronics, general knowledge, human physiology, physics, home DIY history and many others. Dealing with such vast topics is apparently not a problem for Althaf, who revealed that most of the materials are researched and written by his staff while others are commissioned from experts in their respective fields.

Unsurprisingly, the major challenges faced by Everyday Guide are how to attract more visitors and establishing itself firmly as a worthy rival to other more well known sites such as HowStuffWorks and About.com. No doubt it is not an easy task to become a mainstream DIY educational hub, but being a blog, it is in a unique position to attract loyal visitors and establish a closer relationships with them. A case in point, each article at the blog has a comment section, where readers are able to initiate a conversation by sharing their own experiences, giving feedbacks about the articles, contributing to them and more.
