With 42 years of professional experience, Dr. Barclay is recognized as an expert in human sexuality, sexual development, and aberration in early sexual development. In 1993, he established his own practice specializing in psychological assessment and therapy. His responsibilities include performing forensic psychology and evaluating and profiling people charged with sex crimes. He also works with mothers and delinquent children through the Probate Court.

Dr. Barclay has published influential studies linking sex and violence and has been published in the Journal of Personality since his junior year at Yale. A former professor at Michigan State University, he became such a popular teacher that his classes had to be taught to thousands via TV. Dr. Barclay considers being in a position to train the next generation of psychologists to be the proudest accomplishment of his career.

A diplomate and founding board member of the American Board of Sexology, Dr. Barclay received his Ph.D. in 1967 from the University of Minnesota. He earned his Master's Degree from Columbia University and his Bachelor's Degree from Yale University. He is affiliated with the Society for Personality Assessment. In five years, Dr. Barclay plans to increase his involvement in public speaking and education.
