Hugh S. Keeping, Ph.D., MBA, Named Medical Technology Professional of the Year by Cambridge Who's Who

EAST TAUNTON, MA, June 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hugh S. Keeping, Ph.D., MBA, Senior Technology Assessment Officer for Organogenesis Inc., has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Medical Technology. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

Hugh S. Keeping, Ph.D. has an impressive 20 years of professional experience in the field of medical technology. He specializes in tissue engineering and is responsible for managing technological assessments for patents. He notes that he became involved in his profession after making the decision to return to school to purse his MBA where he was introduced to patenting. In the following years, he has patented a number of his own conceptualizations and was granted $75,000 for his first start-up business—an accomplishment of which he is particularly proud. He attributes his success to his hard work and the support he receives from his wife.

Prior to joining Organogenesis Inc., a regenerative medicine development firm, Dr. Keeping served as a member of the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh and Brown University and worked as a research scientist. In 1980, he earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Queen's University in Canada and received his MBA from Regis University in 2005. He is a member of the Wound Healing Society, the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society, and the Product Development and Management Association.
