NEWPORT BEACH, CA, August 6, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen Juncker Albert, Director of Early Childhood Education at Temple Bat Yahm, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of early childhood education.
Drawing on 33 years of expertise in early childhood education, Karen Juncker Albert is recognized for outstanding dedication to the students of Temple Bat Yahm. Now entering her 17th year as director of early childhood education, she is tasked with developing curriculum and full-inclusion programs, supervising and training staff and consulting with parents. Ms. Albert has extensive experience maintaining state educational and accreditation standards put in place by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Prior to joining Temple Bat Yahm, Ms. Albert worked with Orange Coast College, Temple Beth Emet, Village Preschool at Yorba Linda and Vanguard Vocational Center. She is proud to have been selected to participate in the Oxford Round Table in 2006 as well as present a paper regarding the Full Inclusion Preschool Project at the University of Oxford—experiences she considers to be the highlights of her career. She received the Woman of the Year Award for community service from Temple Bat Yahm and attributes her success to top-notch leadership skills and passion for childhood education.
Ms. Albert earned certification in human development from Pacific Oaks College and Children's School in 1986 and certification in nursery school administration from Fullerton College in 1983. She holds a master of education, with a concentration in guidance counseling, from Bowling Green State University and a bachelor of science in home economics from Purdue University. She is former president of the Orange County Association for the Education of Young Children and the National Jewish Early Childhood Network, past vice president of the California Association for the Education of Young Children and is a distinguished member of the Early Childhood Educators of Reform Judaism, the Council for Exceptional Children, the National Association of Temple Educators, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the Association for Childhood Education International.
Established in 1983, Temple Bat Yahm's early childhood education program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Programs are tailored to meet the educational needs of children aged three months to five and a half and classes are conducted by two teachers in an environment that does not exceed 15 students. The preschool sponsors the Full Inclusion Preschool Project, which enables families of children with disabilities to participate in the early childhood education program.
