SAN FRANCISCO, CA, August 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert G. Huerta, Associate Editor of Sociedad Guadalupana for Mission Dolores Basilica, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in community service.
With 40 years of experience with Mission Dolores Basilica, Mr. Huerta is in charge of handling correspondence and organizing events for the Guadalupe Society's yearly Virgin of Guadalupe Las MaƱanitas. An active member of his church and community, he has been a tour guide of the Old Mission Dolores for the last 22 years and, since 1979, has been involved in his city's Memorial Day celebrations through the USS San Francisco Association. Previously, Mr. Huerta was in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, serving on six Navy ships: USS Albany, Helena, Pittsburgh, Juneau, Toledo, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. He attributes the success that he has found both as a serviceman and as a member of his community to his communication skills.

He is a member of the Guadalupe Society, the USS San Francisco Association, and the United States Navy Reserve. He is also a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, San Francisco. The recipient of numerous community honors, Mr. Huerta looks forward to continuing his work with Mission Dolores Basilica and increasing his volunteer work at public schools.
