RICHLANDS, NC, August 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Melinda Dilley Gabe, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist for Growing Always Beyond Expectations, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of psychotherapy.

Ms. Gabe has 10 years of professional experience, with the last six of these years devoted to Growing Always Beyond Expectations, her own psychotherapy practice. A specialist in counseling individuals, families and couples, including military couples, she excels in addressing relationship problems and various men's and women's issues. She has an extensive background in treating depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety, work-related stress, alcohol and drug addiction, manic depression, sexual dysfunction, attention-deficit disorder, and bipolar disorder. In addition to her work as a counselor, Ms. Gabe takes her Maltese dog to patients as a form of pet therapy, supervises interns, and coordinates with a colleague involved in case management and billing. For her, the most rewarding aspect of her career is helping people with self-esteem problems and showing them that they can be anything that they put their minds to. She attributes her success to her diligence, compassion for people, and drive to excel and serve as a good example to her son.

Prior to establishing her practice, Ms. Gabe improved her skills by working in a wide variety of areas. She gained clinical experience at medical centers such as Brynn Marr Behavioral Healthcare System and as a program manager for women recovering from substance abuse. Ms. Gabe also taught human relations and compensatory education to adults with developmental disabilities and conducted general equivalency diploma classes at Coastal Carolina Community College.

In addition to her LCSW and LCAS designations, Ms. Gabe is a Board-Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and a Board-Certified Diplomate. She received a Master of Social Work in 1999 frrom East Carolina University and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1995 from the University of Maryland. She also earned an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Windward Community College and an Associate's Degree in Supervisory Leadership from Hawaii Pacific University. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a former board member of The Women's Center, Onslow County. Recognitions with which she was honored include an Employee of the Year Award from Brynn Marr Behavioral Healthcare System and at Samaritan Behavioral Healthcare. In her spare time, she volunteers with her local church youth group. Ms. Gabe's goals for the future include starting a substance abuse group, establishing a substance abuse facility, reruiting another counselor for her practice, and increasing her involvement in community work.
