'Moobs' Get A Lift As Procedure Figures Rise

'Moob' reduction procedures have rocketed by more than 1,000 per-cent across the UK in the past five years.

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND, October 07, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- 'Moob' reduction procedures have rocketed by more than 1,000 per-cent across the UK in the past five years.

Figures announced earlier this week at the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) annual conference, revealed cosmetic surgery clinics have seen tremendous growth in gynaecomastia procedures.

BAAPS revealed that from just 22 procedures in 2003, the total has jumped to 323 in 2008. The increase of less than one operation a fortnight to almost one a day is said to be fuelled by a greater awareness of the condition as well as more men wanting that Adonis figure.

The Hospital Group, one of the country's leading cosmetic surgery clinics saw a staggering 318 per cent increase in the number of 'moob' reduction procedures performed in 2008 compared to 2003.

Marrius Muller, a former gynaecomastia patient at The Hospital Group said: "Before surgery I used to hate seeing myself topless in the mirror. The surgery not only changed the way I felt about myself and body, but also how people perceive me.

"It gave me that added confidence which I lacked for so many years. Now, I can't wait to get my top off on the beach."

As well as the male breast reduction procedure, The Group also perform a number of other procedures helping men achieve that dream body, including gastric bands, abdominoplasty and liposuction.

Since The Hospital Group was established in 1992, it has grown from a small pharmaceutical company to one of the UK's foremost cosmetic surgery providers. The Group is committed to providing the very highest standards and all procedures are performed by an expert medical team in state-of-the-art facilities that are second to none.
