The 2009 edition of the Torino Film Festival will see the city become the focal point of the cinematic world and will bring together a great selection of works from the contemporary international film world.

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, October 08, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Only a few weeks remain for film fanatics to prepare for a huge celluloid celebration in Turin.

The 2009 edition of the Torino Film Festival is set to take place between November 13th and 21st and will see the city become the focal point of the cinematic world as moviegoers descend on it to view the offerings on display.

Now in its 27th year, the event offers filmmakers the chance to scoop a range of prizes for their work, such as EUR25,000 (GBP22,915) for the person who wins the award for best film of festival.

Awards will also be presented to best actor, actress and in several other categories, too, meaning that those staying in Turin hotels over the course of the festival can be sure that they will see films of the highest calibre.

Several tributes will take place during the festival, including dedications to Nicholas Ray and Nagisa Oshima, where to entire back catalogues of both artists will be screened.

Tickets for the festival, which was originally called Festival Internazionale Cinema Giovani when it first began during the 1980s, are due to go on sale in early November and announcements about pricing will be made closer to the time.
