ELYRIA, OH, October 12, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joy E. Jones, Assistant Principal at Elyria High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in educational administration.

As the assistant principal of Elyria High School, Ms. Jones is responsible for supervising 465 students out of 2,100 students and overseeing discipline, security procedures, intervention programs and student relationships. She also organized an intervention program, the Study Island program, as well as a credit recovery program that resulted in the school's highest graduation rate in 20 years. She attributes her success to her self-reflection and conscience.

Ms. Jones received her master of arts in education administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in 2003. She serves as vice president of the Lorain County Alliance of Black School Educators and is affiliated with the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. She hopes to become the superintendent of East Cleveland City Schools, her alma mater.
