EDMONDS, WA, October 15, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- It's well known that too much candy can lead to uncomfortable dental problems for children. Halloween is the king of candy consumption holidays, with annual Halloween candy sales totaling more than $2 billion. How can a family balance dental health and a sweet tooth?

This Halloween Edmonds Woodway Dental Care is providing a great solution, while also raising funds to support FareStart, a Seattle culinary job training and placement program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals.

From November 2 through 25, Edmonds Woodway Dental Care will give a child $5 cash for every pound of candy brought to their office, plus a $50 donation to FareStart as a part of their "Cash for Candy" Campaign.

"'Cash for Candy' is our way of taking care of our neighbors," said Dr. Michael Hrankowski. "Kids can still satisfy a bit of their sweet tooth, we can promote better dental health and the Campaign will raise money to support a fantastic nonprofit organization."

To participate, just drop your candy off during business hours at Edmonds Woodway Dental Care at 21810 76th Avenue West, Suite 102. Business hours are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. The child will receive $5 for every pound of mixed candy delivered and there is a limit of two pounds per child.

Dr. Hrankowski will also make a $50 donation to FareStart for each pound of candy that is delivered to his office. FareStart has provided opportunities for over 3,000 people to transform their lives, while also serving over 3.5 million meals to disadvantaged men, women, and children.
