Teen-Aiders Hosts Halloween Costume Drive for Lake County's Homeless Children

Local teens dedicated to helping Lake County's homeless is holding a Halloween Costume drive for Lake County's homeless children .



    LAKE FOREST, IL, October 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Teen-Aiders, a group comprised of adults and teen volunteers from local schools such as Vernon Hills HS, Libertyville HS, Stevenson HS and Woodlawn Middle School, is seeking donations of children's Halloween costumes. All donated costumes will be distributed to Lake County shelters; such as The PADS Family Center, The Samaritan House and The Staben House for the children currently residing at those shelters. Donations will be accepted now thru October 28th.

Vernon Hills, IL drop off locations include:
The Sullivan Center: 635 N. Aspen Drive
The Laschen Community Center: 294 Evergreen Drive
Focus Products Group: 120 Lakeview Parkway

Teen-Aiders' defined mission is to facilitate aid to homeless children while fostering a spirit of philanthropy, activism and awareness in teen volunteers. Teen-Aiders provides local teens with a variety of educational and philanthropic activities designed to help them build an awareness of the realities of the homeless problem right here in Lake County. Through this program, teens gain an appreciation for their own fortunate circumstances while participating in rewarding experiences that provide a foundation of volunteerism that the teens will carry with them into adulthood. Just as importantly, these programs are directly focused on improving the lives of the local children who are victims of homelessness.
