Restylane for a Safe, Younger- Looking You

Skin wrinkles over time because our skin changes; one major change is the loss of elasticity. While some people think wrinkles make men look "distinguished," most women feel wrinkles simply make them look old.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA, October 29, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Restylane is a dermal filler used to add volume and fullness to facial wrinkles and folds. The more popular areas of the face for Restylane are:

• The forehead
• Crow's-feet around the eyes
• Areas around the nose
• Wrinkles near the mouth
• The lips to add fullness
• The puffy areas under the eyes

Restylane is a safe dermal filler that is made up of hyaluronic acid that is identical to and mimics the natural substance in our skin. Restylane is not made from animal tissue so it does not cause an allergic reaction for anyone with animal allergies. This dermal filler is safe for use in the skin and can be injected in the lower to mid areas of the dermis. This means that mild to moderate wrinkles and folds can be treated with Restylane

Good candidates for Restylane are:

• Anyone 18 years-old or older
• Women who are not pregnant
• Women who are not currently breast-feeding
• Anyone with realistic expectations of the results
• Anyone who is in fairly good physical health

As with any dermal facial filler, Restylane has a short recovery period and may cause some minor side effects. After the Restylane treatment, some side effects during the recovery period may include:

• Swelling of the skin
• Redness
• Minor pain
• Minimal bruising
• Some tenderness

These side effects will last seven days or less and are normal. The more rare side effects may include swollen or red tiny bumps. It is important to know that the treatment of Restylane may cause another outbreak if you have had cold sores on your face before the treatment.

You should make sure that your plastic surgeon has experience in injecting Restylane. It is very rare, but the surgeon may inject the treatment into a blood vessel. This can damage your skin.

You should not use Restylane if you:

• Have recently used prescription drugs that thin the blood
• Have recently used prescription drugs that prevent the blood from clotting
• Are under the age of 18
• Are currently breast-feeding
• Are pregnant

Making sure you are not using drugs that thin or clot the blood will help ensure that you avoid bleeding and bruising in the treated area.

Restylane may postpone the healing process of pimples, hives, cysts, skin sores, rashes, or infections if used on the skin with these facial issues. Restylane may make these issues worse. Please wait until your skin has cleared from these facial issues before using Restylane.

Please learn more about Restylane by visiting the Pacifica Cosmetic Surgery Center's website, serving the residents in and around Orange County, California.
