COLUMBIA, MD, October 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Denise Michele Scott, Owner of Precious Heirlooms, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in personalized crafts.

As the owner of Precious Heirlooms, LLC, Ms. Scott is responsible for meeting with clients to discuss their needs, creating custom-designed scrap books, framed scrapbook pages and shadow memory boxes, and handling all aspects of the business including marketing, production, finance, customer relations and writing grants. Previously, she taught preschool for 13 years and worked at MVDC, Head Start in Ohio as director of education for 10 years and the National Association for the Education of Children. Currently, she is an education specialist for the state of Maryland where she ensures the regulatory standards, monitoring and approval of non-public schools. Ms. Scott started her business after creating a scrapbook about the Washington Redskins for her husband and a shadow box with her children's shoes, pictures and memories. She attributes her success to her faith in God and desire to help people remember and honor their heritage and families.

Ms. Scott received her master of arts in management from Antioch University in 1999, her bachelor of arts in human service administration from Antioch University in 1995 and her associate's degree in early childhood education from Sinclair Community College in 1978. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She also serves as co-chair of the Theater Ministry at the Performing Arts Ministry and Choral Section Leader for the Chancel Choir at the People's Community Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. Ms. Scott intends to build her business and eventually go back to school to obtain her Ph.D. in leadership.
