UNION, NJ, November 2, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vas Nair, Vice President and Chief Learning Officer for the Schering-Plough Corporation, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in talent development and organizational effectiveness.
Possessing over 15 years of professional expertise in global human resources, Vas Nair is hereby recognized for her invaluable contributions at the Schering-Plough Corporation, specifically in the global development of talent on all levels.
Since joining Schering-Plough in October, 2003, Ms. Nair has established the company's global learning and development function and infrastructure. She has made significant contributions toward establishing a new culture and way of working at Schering-Plough. She directed the worldwide launch of a leader behaviors program early in 2004. Then, under a similarly aggressive time frame, she led a team which designed, developed and successfully implemented Schering-Plough's first global performance management program. In 2006, under her leadership, the team launched the management excellence program and situational coaching workshop, Schering-Plough's first global, cross functional learning programs designed to develop critical skills and capabilities for managers worldwide. By bringing together a global network of approximately 80 human resource colleagues to advise, support and champion the initiatives, these priorities were successfully implemented worldwide and enhanced a high performance culture to help achieve the company's strategy. In 2007, she led change management efforts with human resources and leadership teams worldwide to optimize Schering-Plough's merger and acquisition activities.
Ms. Nair joined Schering-Plough from Pfizer Inc. Prior to the company's merge with Pfizer, she was the director of global management development at Pharmacia Corporation. While at Pharmacia, she spear-headed the implementation of a competency-based management development framework for Asia-Pacific. She also designed, piloted and implemented a front line management program at 25 global locations. She joined Pharmacia in 1997.
Today, Ms. Nair continues to design and implement talent defining programs. She coaches leadership teams, delivers conference speeches, and offers consultation in the field. She serves as a board member for the New Jersey Colonial Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross, and sits on the Peer Review Board of the Human Resource and Organizational Development Roundtable and is a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association. Ms. Nair is Chairperson of Schering-Plough's First Women's Network, which she helped establish in 2007.
Proficient in three Asian languages, Ms. Nair is a recipient of the YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) Award.
