SUNDOWN, TX, November 6, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vowery I. Carlile, Instructor for Sundown Independent School District, and Consultant for Vowery's Creative Teaching Materials, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

With 30 years of experience, Ms. Carlile attributes her success to her hard work. At her current posts, she is responsible for teaching gifted students, working with administrators and teachers, and developing gifted programs. She started Sundown's Gifted Program in 1990. Additionally, she is an author of 36 resource books, which provide curriculum that encourages creative thinking for all students, especially the gifted. Her books are used in her own classroom as well as classrooms throughout the state of Texas.

Ms. Carlile received her Master of Science in Education in 1986, and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1984, from New Mexico State University. She holds an advanced certification in teaching talented and gifted students. A member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators, she serves as director for Region 17 for the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented, where she received the Gifted Educator of the Year Award.
