Palm Harbor, FL, November 6, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. David Mapp, Jr., Social Studies Instructor for Pinellas County Schools and Adjunct Instructor at the University level, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, and excellence in education.
As a Social Studies Instructor in Pinellas County, Dr. Mapp teaches middle school civics and geography. In addition, he works as an adjunct in a graduate master's program. He was influenced to pursue employment in the field of education by former teachers and several significant male role models; he attributes his success to the support and positive traditional West Indian upbringing he received from his parents.
Dr. Mapp received both his Doctoral degree, Ed.D., and Educational Specialist degree, Ed.S., from Argosy University, Sarasota Branch, in Instructional Leadership (2008) and Curriculum/Educational Leadership (2005) respectively. He obtained his Master's degree in Social Science Education in 1999 and his Bachelor's degree in 1997, both from the University of South Florida. Dr. Mapp, colloquially called Dr. 'M', holds certifications in Educational Leadership and K-12 Social Science Education. As a 2008 Teacher of the Year Award recipient for the category of Creativity and Innovation, he aspires to move into either college level instruction full time or school based administration.
