1Click2Fame and Tesco Give Shoppers A Chance At Fame

Tesco have today announced their partnership with 1ClickFame, the UK's largest online talent competition. The partnership will see 1Click2Fame launching their state of the art mobile auditioning studios outside Tesco stores across the country.

LONDON, ENGLAND, November 13, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tesco have today announced their partnership with 1ClickFame, the UK's largest online talent competition. The partnership will see 1Click2Fame launching their state of the art mobile auditioning studios outside Tesco stores across the country.

The Performance Pods will provide a unique opportunity for everyday shoppers to express themselves and have their very own shot at stardom.

The Pods have HD Green Screen technology allowing users to produce professional and impressive looking videos. There are no limits to the type of performances possible; be it singing, dancing, comedy, or anything in between, it is all down to the creativity and imagination of the individual. With thousands of tracks and backgrounds to choose from, the public are able to adapt their performance to create the perfect setting for their talent to shine through.

The Pods are aimed at giving Tesco customers a fun experience, and those who believe they've got the fame factor, their video can also be entered into the competition at 1Click2Fame.com. The website, already viewed by hundreds of thousands of people, is where hopefuls will be assessed by industry professionals and the public alike - with the aim of spotting, nurturing and rewarding talent. As well as big cash prizes, winners will receive vital coaching, studio-time and management advice to help them become the next big thing.

Those who chose not to compete in the online talent competition may be more suited to the important role of judging the music competition. While the help from the Star coaches provides competitors with support, useful tips and guidance, it is the visitors to the site who ultimately decides which competitors will progress through to the next stage of the competition.

Pods have already been used at the Turning Point Festival as well as the Louder Lounge at V-Festival. Hundreds of festival goers tried their luck alongside artists such as Will Young and Natalie Imbruglia.

Jonathan Lakin at 1Click2Fame said, "The UK has long been in the grip of a fame-finding fever. The 1Click2Fame Performance Pods are all about tapping into that rich vein of talent but in a continual everyday level where, instead of a panel of celebrity judges, our process is entirely democratic - we let the public decide. Partnering with Tesco means that the Pods will have unique access to thousands of members of the general public - who knows what gems we'll uncover."

The first official Pod will be arriving at Tesco Coventry Arena in November before being rolled out on a regional tour of Tesco stores across the country. All entrants are able to submit their videos to the website to enter the ongoing online variety, dance and music competition, and make their dreams reality. Full details of the tour will be published nearer the time on 1Click2Fame.com.

Rob Salter at Tesco commented, "The partnership with 1Click2Fame gives Tesco a genuinely unique dimension to add to an everyday shopping experience, you never know what hidden talents are walking in the aisles. It's always good for a community to have local talent to rally around and support. The encouragement that all X Factor contestants get from their home towns is a perfect example of how a community can come together and is exactly what we expect 1Click2Fame and Tesco's own talent search to achieve."
