MANITOU SPRINGS, CO, November 18, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- George Dillman, Principal Operating Officer for Alumni Marketing Associates-USA and Alumni Marketing Associates-Austin, LLC has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and experience in his professional, business and public service career.
Mr. Dillman has 53 years of professional, business, and public and community service experiences. As Alumni Marketing Associates' principal operating officer, he is responsible for proposed project design, licensing and application of the company's patent-pending business method for raising capital and operational funding for special venue facilities on university and college campuses and other non-profit entities nationwide.
The Alumni Marketing Associates group is a co-venture partner with the University of Texas Ex-Students Association in executing the Santa Rita Society project for The University of Texas-Austin (www.santaritasociety.org).
Mr. Dillman's professional and business highlights include service as Board Chairman and Chief Executive of Bonanza International and the Bonanza Sirloin Pit franchise chain (1963-69); director, vice-president and venture specialist, Diversa, Inc., publically-traded diversified holding company with interests in banking, life insurance, real estate development oil and gas exploration and production, manufacturing and the hospitality industries (1961-1968); co-founder of Rio Airways (1970) and the Trini's restaurants franchise chain (1969); and chairmanship of Great West Bankshares and Title U.S.A (1983-89). He was co-creator and consultant to Ninthwave Productions, producer and distributor of the nationally syndicated, Gold Camera First Place award-winning American Moment with Charles Kuralt (1994-1999); board member, National Council of Savings Institutions and chairman, Thrift Pac, the National Council's political action committee; and, he was an investor, board member and served in senior executive positions with multiple federally insured financial institutions in Texas and regionally (1964-1980).
Current Community Service: Steering Committee, Safer Dallas-Better Dallas. Past community, state and national service includes 10 years service as Chair, Texas Tourist Agency (first appointed by then-Governor John B. Political and government related activities and service include varying roles on campaign and advance staffs for two former U. S. presidents; campaign and research and/or speech-writing staffs for two former U.S. Senators, two U.S. Senate and two U.S. Member of Congress candidates and two Texas governors. Attended 1960 Democratic National Nominating Convention (Los Angeles) as a member of then-Majority Leader Lyndon B. Johnson's press staff; participated in each subsequent nominating convention through 1988, first as public affairs director for the 1964 Platform Committee that developed the Civil Rights platform, as a delegate (1968), and - 1972 through 1988 - as senior convention staff member responsible for credentialing systems and the assignment and distribution of credentials.
Earned degrees in Secondary Education Administration, Physical Education and Business Administration (Economics and Finance); post graduate studies in business and communication; enrolled with the Texas State Bar (1957) to read law and sit for the State Bar exam.
A recreational runner, from 1966 through 2004, Mr. Dillman regularly participated in 10K, half-marathon, and marathon competitions, including twice in the Pikes Peak Marathon and, in 2004, in the Pikes Peak Challenge fund raiser for brain injury. Articles and speeches have been published in a wide range of professional, industry and religious journals and periodicals and in general circulation print mediums.
