Henderson, NV, December 1, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ --Richard P. McCann, JD, Executive Director and Labor Representative for the Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in legal services.

With nearly 30 years of professional litigation experience, Mr. McCann's work currently focuses on representing law enforcement personnel and litigating actions involving law enforcement and police unions. He is responsible for managing the legal and labor representation of more than 1,200 police personnel including more than 15 law enforcing unions and 35 law enforcment agencies throughout Nevada, providing legal defense for misconduct issues, handling labor grievances and negotiating collective bargaining contracts. Originally from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, he attributes his success to his perseverance, work ethic and his intense preparation for his clients' cases.

Mr. McCann received his bachelor of arts in psychology from The Ohio State University in 1977 and later his Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law in San Diego, California in 1980. During the 20 years following his graduation, he worked with one of the largest law firms in Nevada, Beckley, Singleton, DeLanoy and Jemison, with emphasis in insurance, business litigation and medical malpractice law. For the past 10 years, Mr. McCann has emphasied labor representation for peace officers and police Unions. Mr. McCann has participated in more than 1,000 jury and bench trials, arbitrations and mediations. He has written and lectured on issues pertaining to office rights and insurance claims.

He is also extremely active within his professional community. Mr. McCann is a member of the American Bar Association and Clark County (Nevada) Bar Association. He acts as an Arbitrator within the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County and he is a Board Member of the Nevada State Board of Chiropractic Physicians. Mr. McCann hopes to continue his representation of law enforcement personnel and Unions, serve his community on various Boards of Directors and increase his experience in representing administrative agencies throughout Nevada.
