RICHMOND, VA, December 9, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ --Dr. Christopher M. Morosky, Physician and Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who as a distinguished physician in Women's Healthcare.

Dr. Christopher M. Morosky is now entering his second year of academic practice within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Virginia Commonwealth University. He had the honor of accepting the nomination to the position of Clinical Clerkship Director at the beginning of this academic year. This position provides him the opportunity to guide and supervise each of the 180 third year VCU medical students rotating through OB/GYN this year.

At the same time, Dr. Morosky maintains his dedication to resident education through daily (and often nightly) instruction to each of the 24 VCU OB/GYN residents. His professional interests include general obstetrics, minimally invasive or laparoscopic gynecologic surgery and infectious disease specific to women's health. He has grown a busy office practice, and he performs multiple inpatient and outpatient surgeries, as well as assists women with their labor and deliveries.

In the past year alone, Dr. Morosky has been honored with a number of awards in the course of his work, including the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the National Faculty Award from the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Best New Teacher Award and the Best Clerkship Teacher Award from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

Dr. Morosky received his MD in 2004 from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he stayed on to complete his four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Medical Association, and the Medical Society of Virginia.
