Her visual pieces have been exhibited at the Museum of American Illustration, and in 2006, her collaborated poetry anthology "River Voices" was published by SOLAR 1. She is also the creator of a felt game board for Friends Seminary, a bookplate for NBS donations and a holiday card and exclusive poster for the Russian Tea Room. She lived in Kenya, East Africa with the Experiment in International Living.
Ms. Shepardson holds a bachelor of arts from William Smith College. She exhibited at Sarah Lawrence College and earned a Certificate in Fine Arts Illustration through the Art Students League of New York. Her drawing of Gramercy Park received an award. A painting, "Snow Scene, Russian Tea Room," was purchased by Faith Stewart-Gordon and used for many years as the restaurant's official holiday card. It was also blown up to poster size for window display and exhibit in the Russian Tea Room restaurant. Ms. Shepardson's painting, "Russian Tea Room, Circa 1949," was used by Faith Stewart-Gordon as note cards as well as a book jacket for a memoir about the restaurant entitled, "The Russian Tea Room, A Love Story." Recently, fall 2009, the original painting, "Russian Tea Room, Circa 1949," was purchased by Hasan Biberaj for exhibit in the Russian Tea Room restaurant. Her original painting, "Ice Skating, Rockefeller Center" was also purchased by Canadian art collector Richard Harris. Her print "The Ornaments" was acquired by the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art and her black and white illustrations have been used by ARLIS (Art Libraries Society of North America). Another print was used to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Three Forks, Montana.
An attendee of the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, she completed industry-related training in fine art and is the recipient of several recognitions including the Preservation Grant from the Newark Museum, the Gramercy Park Drawing Award and the Fine Arts Illustration Certificate from The Art Students League. Ms. Shepardson previously served as an assistant librarian and worked for nine years as the Executive Assistant to President Carlos Fligler of the Delta Capital Corporation, where she typed legal contracts, sometimes in Spanish, and helped him helm the well-respected international money management firm.
